Big news was announced last week – Yahoo Search is officially powered by Bing’s organic search results.
There have been clues that this would happen including evidence of testing throughout the summer, but now it’s official.

There is also chatter that Yahoo’s paid-advertising platform will be powering Bing’s ads this fall.
It only makes sense that the both organic and paid ads would be driven by the same product…stay tuned!
I am not exactly thrilled about Bing. I have waited months for a mail response from them to get listed in their ‘local’ section, while yahoo was extremely fast. I also am still getting different positions on the same keyword phrase on bing vs. yahoo, which is a bit odd. I guess it is one less website we have to tweek our SEO for but the merger seems sloppy thus far.
What happened to the previous search provider for Yahoo’s search(Overture or omniture)????? Someone please fill me in.
So bing handles both yahoo & msn’s search results now?
