In her recent Blizzard Newsletter Blog article, Kathy Barta did a great job defining Pay-Per-Click search engines (PPCs) in their pure form.
For Blizzard Promotion clients, these are accounts that we maintain on a client’s behalf to make his/her site come up in the sponsored search engines. We conduct extensive research to find terms that are being searched for by the public and that are relevant to each specific site. The three major PPC search engines that we use are Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
Why do you need productive PPC accounts? Pay-Per-Clicks are vital for several reasons, the most important of which is exposure. Because they’re so targeted, they allow a site to appear for terms that it otherwise would not. In paying for placement, we are able to strategically place client ads for maximum results. These search engines also give us the opportunity to write an appealing ad for the site – something we’re not specifically able to do with organic (free) search results.
