Why Blog for Business?

Blogs are a new hot topic. You hear about or see them everywhere these days - magazine articles, billboards, radio, TV, this newsletter blog…, but what are they and how can they help you and your business? We’ve been continuing our research of the potential of blogs and have developed some ways for you to get in on the action.
What is a blog? A web-log, or “blog”, is an online forum in which people can post comments. It is up to the blog’s owner to decide who may make posts to it; it can be set it up so that the owner is the only one to post to it, or it can be opened up for public or subscriber-only comments. There is also an option to approve/disapprove all comments.
Why are blogs important? The Google spider will visit and index your site more often when the information is updated frequently. Ideally, we suggest updating your blog once a day, but at least three times per week. More frequent indexing fosters improved site ranking in organic search results.
What does this mean to you? This is your chance to take an active role to increase your online presence. Make the posts relevant to the rest of the information on your site. For example, you may want to post an article about an upcoming event in your area or a recent remodel of your property.
How can Blizzard help? A Full Blog Package will become available in January that will include setup of the blog and the software to main it. In conjunction with the setup, this package also includes initial training and ongoing support for one full year.
Not ready to put a blog on your site? We also offer a package to promote your web site on the blogs we’ve setup. We’ve tested many different blogs and have built a collection of well-promoted, high-ranking blogs to list your site on and improve your site’s link popularity.
