Vacation Rental Managers Association Eastern Tradeshow

I am exhibiting and speaking today in Charleston, SC at the VRMA Eastern Conference. This afternoon I am presenting on “Web 2.0: The New Social Internet.” The topics are: Blogs, Wikis, PhotoSharing, Google Earth, Ezines, Social Bookmarking and more.

There are several hospitality vendors here with exciting products that we want to share with our customers in the travel and tourism industry:

Kaba Ilco has a keyless lock that is really neat. It lets you control your access codes using a browser interface, and you can have different access codes for all the different types of people that need into your units: owners, maintenance, cleanings, guests, etc.

USA Resort Rentals has a newer lodging directory for the vacation rental manager and the VRBO. They are working hard to sign up clients and are offering good deals. We have seen a few customers really get their money’s worth from this resource.

Navis has what has to be the best phone-tracking solution I have ever seen. They can really help you turn more phone calls into paying guests, and also track the sources of those phone calls (a must if you are doing print ads, or want to know how much of your business is generated by your website… which we want you to know!)

Trip Homes is another lodging directory, made especially for the vacation rental manager. They are different from other lodging directories because they don’t charge an annual per-property fee to list, instead they charge for actual results… for emails and phonecalls that their listing generates to rental properties. You only pay for what you get.

CSA Travel Protection is the travel industry leader in providing travel insurance to the VRM industry. In these days of hurricanes and terrorists, this service really makes sense. Lee Hughes is a great guy to talk to if you have any questions, he is truly an expert in these matters.

We have enjoyed tremendous growth using Blizzard’s online marketing services. We strongly recommend them to anyone in the resort industry who is interested in maximum online exposure. It has been a pleasure to meet Trent Blizzard and Dennis Winchell, Blizzard’s representatives at this show. These gentlemen have an excellent understanding of the industry and of what it takes to make our site , usaresortrentals.com , stand out among the available travel and vacation directories. Call them for results!

THANKS TRENT. This is a simple efective tool to communicate and offer advice and information.

The Oracode access system is a unique web based access system that offers security, simplicity and ways to generate incremental revenue. All codes are time sensitive and allow for every event to be traced in the lock. Distance for staff, guests and vendors is not an issue because codes can be managed any way you choose!

Express check-in is reality as codes can be given out months in advance with the knowledge that access will be granted only when supposed to.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss this system at your convenience.

Good description, Trent. The vacation rental marketing solutions that Navis brings to the market can really help companies retain more existing customers, attract more new customers and increase their lifetime value. Our connectivity solutions offer new and exciting ways for VR managers to not only track their campaigns, but also gather detailed information about their customers and prospects and then leverage that data for marketing campaigns. It is an incredible set of tools.

We have beeen Blizzard customer for years, but have never met. Imagine my surprise, when in the Hotel lobby, this stranger with a beard said: “Hi Curt!”.

Trent’s presentation on “Social Internet” was insightful and at times, hilarious. But my personal high light was Trent’s list of “S@it to keep you busy”, which I have been busily doing. Thanks, Trent!

  5. Curt Feldmann Says:

OK, here it is… one of the S@it to keep you busy ideas was a blog. Mine is 25% vanity and 75% self promotion, but all about our StoryBook Villlage.
