The Power of Video Sharing

Stephanie Hedberg | 13 February 2007 |

According to TIME Magazine’s January 2007 edition, “Users upload 65,000 new videos to the site (YouTube.com) every day. A year ago, they watched 10 million videos a day; now they watch 100 million.” These numbers demonstrate how effective video sharing sites have become.

Websites such as YouTube, Google Video, Buzz Net, Vimeo, and Grouper are all dedicated to distributing videos on the Internet. These sites are growing in content each day as well as visitors, which makes them very powerful! Advertisers are beginning to see great results with such sites and just how productive they can be. Most video sharing sites are easy to use, quick, and more importantly, FREE!

John Cloud of TIME Magazine states, “YouTube became a phenomenon in 2006 for many reasons, but one in particular: it was both easy and edgy, a rate combination. You can watch videos on the site without downloading any software or even registering.”

Now is the time to get involved! Start collecting videos that feature your property, area, or even local events. To see how Blizzard incorporates this innovative service for their clients check out: Bama Bayou in the Gulf Shores Area or Sonoran Sun Resort in Rocky Point, Mexico.
