So, you’ve decided on your vacation destination, but how do you decide where to stay? Every day, more and more travelers rely on travel review websites, part of the “Social Internet”, to help them find activities and accommodations that fit exactly what they’re looking for.

Tripadvisor.com is the undisputed leader in Internet travel review websites. Currently, the site tracks over 19 million worldwide unique visitors to their site each month. With this huge amount of traffic, a lodging propertyor travel destination in a very competitive area cannot afford to be left behind. Something as simple as asking a guest to leave a review at Tripadvisor.com after his or her stay at your lodging property can increase the number of great reviews, and therefore lend more credibility to your bed and breakfast, inn, hotel or vacation rental. You can even direct them to access the correct property on Tripadvisor.com via a link from your website, which is an easy way to ensure the review gets put in the right spot.

From a SEO standpoint, a link from Tripadvisor.com is invaluable, as most search engines consider the travel directory to be an “Authority Site” and place more credibility on any link associated with it. Once you have a link to Tripadvisor.com in place, you can request that they link back to your travel website. There are some rules to this, but they are fairly liberal and easy to conform to.

If you’re interested in increasing the credibility of both your travel website and your lodging property, contact your Account Management Team today to have this set up. If you’re not yet a Blizzard Internet Marketing client, contact us at info@blizzardinternet.com for more information.
