I once took a grad course that bored everyone in the class so badly, nearly everyone ducked out of it. So many people routinely took breaks and failed to return that the professor stopped allowing us to leave the room. However, nearly 30 years later, I still remember one thing that cruel lecturer droned into me - and I find myself applying it to life everyday… The future is closer than you think.
Technology changes much more swiftly than most of us can envision. Those actually doing the research and experimentation are continually on the cusp. Their daily work involves developments the rest of us view as science fiction - advances we can only imagine coming to fruition years into the future. Do you know that videos games can already be played using brain waves? (Yes, mind-controlled PC’s exist right now.) Or that the Sony has a patent that can deliver sensory experiences, such as smell, from a game, directly to the player’s brain?
