Portable Document Format (PDF)

Blizzard Associate | 27 November 2006 |

A PDF is a file format designed to capture formatting information from a variety of desktop publishing applications, such as Microsoft Word, making it possible to send formatted documents that retain their appearance on the recipient’s monitor or printer. PDF files allow us to share robust information from any application on any computer with anyone. To view a PDF file, you need Adobe Reader, a free application distributed by Adobe Systems Incorporated.

A great Open Source pdf creating tool is available online at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ the licence is GNU General Public License (GPL) which means that the creators of the program have allowed free downloads and sharing of the software. I have used this program and it works pretty well if you need to create pdf documents.
