Over the past few months, we’ve written a lot about Local Search; some of you may be wondering why we feel it’s so important. The reason is simple: Local Search is Mobile Search and Mobile Search is poised to explode. Why?

1. The internet is becoming a utility for many people. We use it more and more all the time for more and more applications and we want to use whenever the need arises, not just when we are at home or in the office.

2. There are many more cell phones than personal computers and the numbers are growing rapidly. Most PDA’s and Blackberries can connect to the internet, as well.

3. Nearly all new cell-phones are web-enabled, and the cost of using them to connect to the internet is coming within reach.

4. When Mobile Searches are conducted, Local Search results are returned.

Therefore, if you want to be found when Mobile Searches are made, you must solidly establish your web presence in the Local Search platforms.
