Inbound Links -vs- Outbound Links

All links play a role in benefiting a particular web site. Inbound links, those pointing to a site, affect ranking differently than those that leave it. Their impact on a site’s performance is related to the quality of the source providing the link; the more “reputable” and “popular” the source, in the eyes of search engines, the greater their role in boosting the performance of the recipent site. The importance of outbound links comes into play via their placement on the site. This placement is one of the items we factor in when we optimize our Promotion client’s websites.
