HITEC 2004 : Wireless Broadband We attended HITEC 2004 in Dallas in June and visited with many technology vendors in the hospitality industry, both big and small.  We were surprised by the large quantity and variety of wireless providers represented at the show — companies that install, administer and support wireless networks for hotels, resorts, inns, etc.  Obviously, there is a huge growth in the wireless broadband amenity, but it is still the tip of the iceberg due to the fact that  the overall penetration is still quite low.  One provider that has caught our eye is www.wanderingwifi.com - they offer a very nice package for lodging properties.  It is very reasonably priced and includes installation, administration and support.  If you are considering wireless broadband, you should consider wanderingwifi’s product.

There are many websites that specialize in listing hotspots around the world.  The good news is that they typically offer a free listing to a hotel website as well as some additional advertising opportunity.  If you have taken the time and expense to install a wireless network, take a few moments to investigate (and sign up for) the following website:

Jiwire
Wi-FiHotSpotList.com
WiFinder
HotSpot Haven

Wi-Fi ZONE Finder
Wi-Fi-FreeSpot

Hotspot-Locations.com
