Google Updates Keyword Tool

Have you ever wondered how the words that are used to promote your travel website are chosen? It is definitely not just a random selection. Your promotion account manager has many tools available to help determine the best keywords for your website. One of the tools we use is the Google Keyword tool. Google has just added a new feature called Global Traffic Trends, and explains this new addition:
“Review global trends and traffic histories for your keywords (Avg. Search Volume) and fluctuations in traffic for a twelve month period (Search Volume Trends). The graph represents traffic trends during the last twelve months.
Each bar in the graph is shown relative to the keyword’s overall performance for the twelve month period. (The baseline for search volume is considered to be an average of 100%.) You can also see in which month a given keyword received the highest volume of traffic during the twelve month period (Highest Volume Occurred In).”
This new addition to the Keyword Tool means that we can now see seasonal words in a better light. It will be easier to find and target specific terms during high season. For example, if your travel and tourism business is a ski resort or a fall foliage destination, we will be better able to discover those terms that internet surfers are using to search for your area.
