Josh Green

What’s your favorite book? Why?
Starship Troopers, by Heinlein (not to be confused with the awful movie). It is an interesting look into the future that is scary and exciting all at the same time. Any good Sci-Fi fan should read it.

What do you consider to be your greatest talent/asset?
My rugged good looks and my stunning personality. Jackie says its my sense of humor but what does she know?

What’s the most unique/unusual job you’ve ever had?
Working as a blog designer and SEO for an Internet Marketing Company in Glenwood. Of course, most people would say being a working cowboy/rodeo clown is pretty unusual, too!

What’s the most unique/unusual dwelling you’ve lived in?
Well, one summer I led pack trips and spent the entire summer living in three sided, leaking-roofed hay barns, next to 20 saddles, a 1/4 ton of sweet feed, and sleeping on bales of hay. Did I mention that bears like sweet feed? No? Well, now you know.

If you could do anything for a profession, what would it be?
Working cowboy. There is something about the life that I loved, and always want to go back too. “Home on the Range” is just about right.

If you could share a meal or discussion with any historical figure, whom would it be and why?
Eisenhower, Doolittle, Patton, Churchill, Roosevelt and Truman. I know that is six, but I have always been interested in the time and what these men were thinking when they made the tough decisions that they did. JFK would be interesting too.

If you could live anywhere on the planet, where would you live? Why?
Scotland. Guinness. ’nuff said…

What’s your greatest fear?
My greatest one is a bit personal but I can tell you one of them is being heavily burned. Makes you wonder why I was a firefighter, doesn’t it?

What’s the one bit of advice you’ve gotten in life that’s been of most value?
Get your dang degree already (thanks, Honey!)

What’s one thing about you that surprises people?
Depends on where I am. If I am out with my old cowboy buddies, it’s that I know how to write code (program computers). Other people find it surprising the number of different types of jobs I have held. It’s a virtual smorgasbord of career paths. I am a great multi-tasker which surprises most people.

What surprises you about yourself?
That I am so darn good looking. Oh and that I’m always incredibly humble. Seriously I never thought I was the marrying kind. Apparently I am and I like it.

What was your favorite subject in school? Why?
Girls… Oh, you want actual classes?? I really enjoyed photography and yearbook mainly because I got to run around the school whenever I wanted.

Do you live by any particular motto or creed?
A couple actually. “Always drink upstream from the herd”. “Rain dances always worked because they kept dancing until it rained”. And the last one is from John Wayne’s headstone “Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It’s perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we’ve learnt something from yesterday.”

Are you a “morning person” or a “night owl”?
I was a night owl. Then I married an accountant who gets to work by 6 in the morning so now I am much more of a morning person no matter how I feel about it.

What genre(s) of music do you enjoy? Do you like to dance?
I am very eclectic in my music tastes. Country, pop, hip-hop, classical, rock. I like to dance, though I don’t do it often because of the attention I get. I am so good people will actually start giggling and point at me. Obviously they are amazed at my agility and grace, wishing they could pull off my incredible dance moves. I stop after a few minutes, so as not to embarrass any guys out on first dates - I don’t want to make them look bad. My wife feels the same way, always saying “Stop, its embarrassing.” You would think she would want me to keep going and let everyone know I’m with her, but she just runs away blushing. She’s so proud she can’t stand it.

Given the choice, would you prefer to bike, walk or drive for every day transportation?
Given a choice I would love to walk. Unfortunately, I would have to leave home at around midnight to get to work by 8 am.
