Employee Spotlight - Amy Blizzard
I came to Blizzard Internet Marketing as Trent & Susan’s first employee, soon after they started the business in 1997. Trent is my twin brother, and while he was creating the business, I was working on my singing career and completing a graduate degree in music at the University of North Texas.
When I began my work as a Promotion Specialist at Blizzard, I prepared client information to be submitted to internet search engines and directories - all of the listings were offered for free at the time, with some upgrades offered at a premium. Times certainly have changed! I now hold the title of Manager of Special Promotions, in which I assist clients with e-mail newsletter campaigns and do some copy editing of newsletter and website text.
During the time I have worked my "day job" at Blizzard, I finished my Doctoral Degree, moved to the New York City area, and have continued to sing professionally. I most enjoy singing song recitals, opera and oratorio, but my singing jobs have ranged from church soloist to singing opera tours in Arkansas. This summer, I will be returning to France for the Lyrique-en-Mer Festival, where I will be singing the roles of Papagena in Magic Flute and Frasquita in Carmen. I am excited about my most recent endeavor: I have begun a degree in Speech Pathology, and plan to focus on vocal disorders in singers and foreign language reduction.
When I am not auditioning, performing, studying, or working for Blizzard, I enjoy hiking, cooking, gardening, and going to art museums and concerts in New York City.
