Design Matters

“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” – John F. Kennedy

It’s important to look at your own website from a variety of users’ perspectives. Did they find exactly the information they were looking for? Do high quality photos convey the true look and feel of the property? A few clients saying they liked your website doesn’t necessarily mean it’s converting to it’s full potential. Nice, full-color, professional photos and an updated color-scheme and layout alone can increase your business dramatically.

Currently, your website may be ranking quite well for your chosen keywords. That’s great, but an aged or unappealing site might be keeping fabulous traffic from converting into fabulous profit! While you should consider updating your website every year or two, there are a few things you can do throughout the year to keep it fresh and engaging.

- Consider updating photos seasonally, if you’re in an area where this is relevant.

- Remodeling a room or suite is a great reason to take some new pictures. Professional photography is always best. If you do it yourself, be certain that your photos are well-lit and show your property at its best.

- Keep rates and specials up to date. If you don’t offer a special for a particular month, post something like, “More specials coming soon”, instead of an expired offer.

- Every few months, look at your competitors’ websites. Have they updated color scheme or photos?

Make sure your website stands out in the crowd! Give website visitors reasons why they should choose your property over a competitor’s. Your website is essentially your online brochure, and it needs to look as professional and up to date as possible.
