The increasing popularity of the Internet has made it easy for hotels, resorts, or even small bed and breakfasts to reach a global consumer base. When international visitors search the Internet for accommodation in the US, they usually find rates listed in US dollars. Most, however, are not familiar with current exchange rates in their native currency. What will they do? If you don’t have a currency converter on your web site, the visitor will leave your page and find what they need elsewhere. Installing a currency converter on your website will help the visitor stay on your site and make it easier for him or her to book online.

What is a currency converter? A currency converter is a valuable and convenient tool that allows site visitors to convert rates from one currency to another in mere seconds. Generally, all exchange rates are updated daily.

Here are some tips on how a currency converter can help improve your international sales:

    • Open up your website to the world of international travel

Providing the option of currency conversion automatically makes your website less intimidating to international visitors. You are making a friendly attempt to communicate with visitors in their own currency language. It helps customers to discern exactly what you are offering and for how much. Displaying worldwide currencies can remove the barrier to international customers.

    • Show prices in the currency that is meaningful to visitors

People appreciate personalized information when they travel. Displaying rates exclusively in US dollars is not enough if you are marketing internationally. When you speak to the customers in their currency language, it makes a visitor’s life easier and can help to increase your international sales.

    • Gain more guests by keeping the visitors on your site

Internet users won’t have to leave your site or click on a pop-up currency calculator to convert the local currency to their home currency. Once they leave your site, they might not come back. A currency converter on your website can convert your rates without detracting visitors from the web page.

    Currency Converter Example

A currency converter is usually easy to implement and often requires just one line of code on the back end of your webpage. Your webpage doesn’t need to be in a special format, an standard HTML page is all you need.If you looked at online currency converters some years ago and weren’t satisfied with what you saw, you may want to research them again. There’s a new generation of currency converters available that warrant a look - one that caught my eye is offered at http://dynamicconverter.com.

Give international online users the exact currency information that they need, when they need it, to increase your international sales.

The more convenient your web site is to use, the longer a potential guest will stay on it. I like to know what the exchange rate is when I am on foreign web sites. It makes me stay on the site longer and I am more likely to purchase something because I know exactly what I am paying. Thanks for sharing a great tool, Stefanie!
