SEO is defined as the process in which a website is put together to obtain optimal results in organic search engine rankings. Methodologies include design techniques, content building, navigational organization, and more, with the ultimate goal being to perform well in search engine rankings and to increase the flow of qualified traffic to the site. Higher placement in search engine rankings and increased traffic often lead to higher revenue for website owners.

The rankings are calculated on a monthly basis; the September ranking marks the first time Blizzard has ranked as high as 19th.

“It’s great to be recognized for our SEO efforts. Our business was once dominated by website design work but we quickly recognized that without SEO, creative designs have little value. We are very proud of our employees and their commitment to learn and aspire to be experts. Many attend Search Engine Strategy conferences as well as moderate panel discussions and present on cutting edge topics.” - Blizzard COO Heather Austin
