Blizzard Internet Marketing Announces New Logo

Blizzard Internet is pleased to announce our new logo — now the real work begins of integrating the logo into all of our print and online collateral. Ugh.
Creating a logo turned out to be harder work than we expected. We had three designers (two of them contracted out to logo specialists) work on it, 10 Blizzard employees shared their opinions and over 45 versions were created!
We went through three major revision processes, each time removing one of the designers from the process. By the time we had 45 revisions, we had one designer do the final tweaks.
As we went through the process of refining the designs, many factors came under consideration:
- We wanted it to work in either a horizontal or vertical format
- We wanted it to look good in both print and online
- We wanted to be able to change the colors in the future
- We wanted something that suggested upward movement
- We wanted our full business name and wanted it to be easily read
Here is what our horizontal version looks like:

We also discovered some things we didn’t want:
- Blizzard shouldn’t look like Buzzard
- No snowflakes or cold themes
- No phallic symbols
If you are interested in seeing the 45 or so revisions we went through, check them out:

Thanks for showing all the revisions…seeing them made your comments about what you did and didn’t want crystal clear.
Thanks also for giving us a peek at your process, because it could be applied to a lot of business decisions. To boil it down: know what you want to accomplish, understand what you don’t want, get feedback from those whose opinions matter to you, get professional help when appropriate, and be patient with the process.
Your logo looks sharp! Based on your criteria, you got it just right.

The new one does look good! Takes a few different versions to get to one you like. Better to put the effort in trying stuff early on than settle for something for the sake of changing logo.

I think green colour instead of light blue would convey the meaning of passion and an alive company image. The logo is great, all the cold colours used could perhaps not be quite perfect. Totally personal opinion^_^

Classy indeed! It says “professional”. Or something like that. Where can I get one? For real? I need a new logo for my website, but it costs an arm and a leg.
