Ask.com Adds Topographical Maps to it’s List of “Features”

I read a recent blog article about Ask.com adding topographical maps to it’s search engine. This interested me, as my family and I like to camp and go four-wheeling quite a bit in the summertime. When I visited Ask.com and entered our town, I received a notice that the “imagery is unavailable at this zoom level. Please try zooming out.” Well, zooming out to a level where I could see this so-called “imagery” produced a green map with some bumps on it, not very helpful for planning much of anything. So is it worth adding a topographical map to your travel destination website? Not really!
I’ll stick with Google Earth, but good try!

  1. I thought the maps would be cool tool but not only are they way too large scale but they also put random lakes everywhere. I’ve been trying to bring that to their attention via e-mail and my blog but I don’t think they care.
