April Fool’s Day Pranks

Playing practical jokes on April Fool’s Day is fun for many people. The folks at Google are no different. It has been a tradition at Google to have a couple pranks for users on April Fool’s Day. Google introduced PigeonRank in 2002 as the real way they rank web pages. In 2004, they announced that they were beginning to look for engineers for their Lunar Copernicus Center. MentalPlex search technology, Google Gulp and the introduction of Google Romance services are a few of my favorites from the past few years.
This year was no different as the search giant announced their new wireless broadband services TiSP that was installed in the bathroom. From installation tips to a User’s Group, they thought of it all. Google sure does seem to have some fun at the Googleplex.

Google fooled my husband and my mother in law this year! What a fun group of people.

My personal favorite Google April Fool’s prank is the PigeonRank of 2002. This year the Matt Cutts / DarkSEO fake hack was interesting.
