Thank you Kim,The #3 advice is a gem.

Yes we all know, that we should put our content above the fold. Yes we all know, that we should put our ads above the Google Ads. Yet frequently we overlook these important, essential, and elementary things, mainly because they are so obvious.

As they say:
“The blinding glimpse of the bleeding obvious.”

Thank you for remembering it me again.

Cheers,
AT

Also make sure your website has a search box. People don’t usually have much patience and will use direct search to find what they want. Besides that your search should provide category refinements that urge your customer to continue shopping but at the same time make sure you help your customer find what they want as quickly as possible! Another important point is to make sure your product page provides a clear product picture. Shipping costs, Product policies and any other applicable information should all be easily accessible from the product page.

Great article, valuable insight. I'm always surprised and fascinated by the results of our usability studies.

Sometimes is hard to see the forest for the trees.

Thanks,

Great Article... Got me thinking a lot about the Brides and Grooms that come to my site without ever filling out a request form. Still trying to get them from Email to Consult. Thanks!

Thank you for this great post.

It's perfect timing for me because I'm in the middle of a redesign. I'll certainly consider your questions to survey my website and blog.

I have a tendency to get bogged down in the technical considerations because I'm not good at that part. But your surveying method and linguistic approach build to my strengths. I know my redesign will be better as a result.

Thank you,

Linda P. Morton

Attract visitors is the most important criterion. From my personal point of view, lead generation is one of the easiest to implement and execute. This business model works in several markets and it is very strong, especially among financial services.

As a web designer I often run into this sort of problem with clients' ideas and as an SEO I often have to explain the basic problem to clients who can't understand why high rankings and high traffic doesn't equal high sales. Your approach of trying to get them to look purely through the eyes of a user who has basic questions is a good one and I'll certainly try incorporating some of this into what I say to them.

So much better than I expected from the "x ways to do y" nature of the post title which sadly is becoming a bit of a red flag on blog posts that appear in Sphinn. Well done!
